This is part of our Driver Development quiz series. Hazardous materials (HAZMAT) are products that pose a risk to health, safety, and property during transportation. The Federal HAZMAT transportation law (49 U.S.C. 5101 et seq.) is the basic statute pertaining to the transportation of hazardous materials in the United States. This law requires the training of ALL HAZMAT employees.
The hazardous materials regulations have changed significantly over the last several years which provided for the harmonization of the United State’s HAZMAT regulations with international standards in order to facilitate foreign trade and maintain the competitiveness of U.S. goods. Let’s be honest, we could write hundreds of questions if we wanted to – but we will keep it basic.
